In a move that will no doubt devastate Olivier Giroud, French compatriot and all round half decent footballer Alexandre Lacazette is set to sign for Arsenal in the next 1-2 days after Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas said he expects it to be completed within “one or two days.”
Aulas stated that “The deal will happen for something between €45 million and €50 million. To be close to €50 million is something unique and will be a record for Arsenal and a record for Lyon. One must also take into account that, traditionally, a club like Arsenal do not have the habit of spending so much for one player.”
On the flip side, L’Equipe are reporting that AS Monaco are going to block any approach from Arsenal and Man City for Thomas Lemar and Benjamin Mendy respectively.
Across the country in Manchester, Jose Mourinho is becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of signings coming into Old Trafford with only world-renown, well known centre back Victor Lindelof being the sole addition. In fairness, Jose has seen deals for Alvaro Morata and Nemanja Matic stall in recent weeks.
Having previously stated that he wanted more than one new face on the plane to America for their pre season tour, Jose is said to have been frustrated at Ed Woodward for instead flying out to New Zealand to watch the Lions take on the All Blacks. Could this be the start of a feud between the two?
