Man United and Chelsea have held preliminary talks to try and lure Bayern Munich’s number nine, Robert Lewandowski to the Premier League.
Both clubs have had problems with an out and out number 9 and are keen to rectify the position for the upcoming season. United at a stalemate with Real Madrid over the signing of Morata and potential return of marksman Cristiano Ronaldo, while Chelsea unsure if Diego Costa is staying at the club.
Man United and Chelsea have spoken to Lewandowski’s representatives over a potential move but nothing as yet confirmed.
The 28 year old striker said recently that he was disappointed over a lack of support at Bayern Munich in his hunt for the Bundesliga golden boot. He scored 30 goals last season, but missed out on the top-scorer golden boot to Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by a single goal.
He told the Polish Super-Express: “I was not really happy with how my team helped me. I was annoyed and disappointed with the team’s attitude.”
Leawndowski’s style makes him the typical striker who would thrive in the Premier League. It’s early days in the transfer window, this wont be the last we’ve heard of the Polish-powerhouse.
