The Odds on Ronaldo’s Team Next Season.

The news broke from Spain earlier today that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has made an “irreversible” decision to leave the 12 time Champions League winners.

Upon the news breaking I knew the bookies wouldn’t be long giving odds on his next team, however much to my surprise they still have Real Madrid as the favourites to have the Portuguese man on their squad next season with the odds being 8/13 (1.62)

Unsurprisingly the favourites to snatch Ronaldo from Madrid is the wingers previous club, Manchester United. Manchester United fans would no doubt welcome the player back with open arms.

Over the last few transfer windows Madrid and United have been involved in one of the most closely followed transfer rumours, David De Gea leaving Old Trafford for the Santiago Bernabeau. So if the deal does go through with Ronaldo returning to Manchester don’t be surprised to see former Atletico goalkeeper De Gea returning to Madrid.

Another team who may come into snatch the signature of the multi time world player of the year is PSG. PSG are currently 5/1 (6.00) to sign CR7. The French side have made a name for themselves for making extravagant signings, but even by their standards this would be quite a get.

Of course the odds of Ronaldo possibility moving to China or USA is being offered, at 25/1 (26.00). Which may be good financially but would effectively end the players chances of building on his legendary legacy in the game.

Other interesting odds being offered is 33/1 (34.00) on both Chelsea and Manchester City, who are of course big rivals of Ronaldo’s former club Manchester United.

Sporting Lisbon, Cristiano’s first professional club are an outsider to sign their former youth player at 50/1 (51.00).

These odds where from Sky Bet and could differ from bookmaker to bookmaker and could change as the day goes on. Remember when the fun stops, stop, for more information on gambling, visit gambling aware.
